Oh no! A meteor is gonna hit the Earth and scientists don’t have energy powerful enough to provide the required protection measures (a shield around Earth)! 

What will they ever do? 

Well, they have just enough energy to open up a portal for a limited amount of time onto a dangerous dimension, full of hostile creatures which use high capacity dark energy containers for cutting their grass and for obliterating entire planets. 

Swiftly use the weapon prototype scientists have given you to survive long enough to collect enough dark energy containers to save the Earth (and save planets on that other dimension from their impending doom I guess).
